Sometimes in science a picture, video, or animation can really be worth a thousand words (if not more).
I ran across a great collection of physics and chemistry simulations produced by the University of Colorado at Boulder while catching up on my Bloglines reading this morning. There are so many fun animations on this website that I am having trouble getting dressed and out the door! If you are an 7th or 8th grade science teacher check out the simulations on Gas Properties, Models of the Hydrogen Atom, Projectile Motion…and many more!
If you are a little more technology-enabled than me you can even create your own and contribute to the cause! This website was a winner of this year’s NSF Science & Engineering Visualization Challenge. While you are checking out their website look for the fantastic Breast Cancer Virtual Anatomy site.
