Picture+1 New Google Earth Sky Feature Oooh! Ahhh!
Attention science teachers it is now time to download the latest beta version of Google Earth! At first the change is very subtle. However, if you go to View at the top of the page you will notice a new line of text – “Switch to Sky.” Suddenly, you are no longer looking down at the Earth. Instead, you are looking up at the sky. If all of the constellations aren’t distracting you, take a look under “Layers” on the left side of the screen. A whole new set of layers has appeared. Oogle Earth has a whole write up about the new layers.

The picture above is a screen shot from the new Google Earth. If you aren’t on a school district computer, click on the picture. It will take you to a YouTube video clip about the new Google Earth.

This is way too cool! I can’t wait to show it to my students, too bad our Solar System unit is not until Spring.

BTW: I was able to see the video from school.
