National Archives – Digital Vaults

rosaparks National Archives Digital VaultsTonight through a post on HistoryTech I stumbled across a great site for primary sources – Digital Vaults by the National Archives. Start by selecting one of the images in the center of the page. If nothing shown interests you, click “Shuffle Records” and you will be presented with another set of images. After a few minutes of playing I am completely hooked! I love the way the interface connects topics and resources. The screen shot you see is the one created when I clicked on a diagram showing where Rosa Parks was sitting when she refused to give up her seat from Browder vs. Gayle. It gave me chills.

While clicking through the site a little I also found a whole host of teacher and student resources produced by the National Archives. Take a moment to review their lesson plans and professional development resources. Great stuff!
