Need a little professional development, but its “not in the budget.” Or perhaps like me you just don’t have the time to be outside of your classroom. Well, the K12 Online Conference is for you! Believe it or not, from the comfort of your teacher’s desk, couch, treadmill, or car you can attend this conference all for FREE!
Contrary to the title of my post, the conference actually started last week with a preconference keynote by Stephen Hepell. However, this week things really get rolling with two themes – “Getting Started” and “Prove It.” Take a look at the schedule for the next two weeks and if there is a session title that interests look for more information about in on the teasers page. Since you may be a first time attendee of the K12 Online Conference, make sure you also check out the first timer wiki and post your location to the collaborative Google Map (you know I am a sucker for anything Google Maps/Google Earth related).
No matter, which sessions you choose each one is presented as an audio podcast or video you can view when the time suits your schedule the best – even if that’s over Christmas Break as happened to me last year! I think this time around I may use my lunch breaks the next few weeks for a little K12 Online Professional development. If you teach at Salk and have B Lunch, pop by my room and we can have viewing party!
