GoView.com

Ever wanted to record what’s happening on your screen and do a tutorial video? Perhaps you’ve thought about helping someone understand how to cut-and-paste in Word by showing how you do it?  There’s a free program available for Window’s users – yes, we’re big on free stuff.  It’s called GoView.com. They’re pitch is simple:

Capture your computer screen and audio with GoView™, then instantly share your recording online. It’s quick. It’s easy. And it’s free!

The difference between this and other screen capture software is that this streams your “video” to GoView’s servers while you’re recording and becomes immediately available online.  There’s no uploading to YouTube or other file handling hassles.  This is really convenient for those of you who don’t want to bother with editing the screen capture or you have a limited amount of time and want a quick result.  If you like to edit and polish, you can do that too.  So it’s pretty flexible.

  • There’s a short demo of what I’m talking about here.

PS – This is for Windows platform only – XP or Vista (which will make some of you Mac haters smile!)
