Google Earth Embedded Video Feature

Last week was the first week of school and naturally I already feel like I am behind! Right around the time school started Google released their newest version of Google Earth. There are many nifty features in this latest edition, but one thing I totally missed until today (thanks to Juicy Geography) was that now you can embed video files in placemarks! AWESOME!

For those of you who have never made a placemark (Its easy – I can show you), previously only images could be embedded in the placemark and you had to add links video clips. It worked, but looked kind of lame. Now you can watch the video clips right inside of the placemark and it looks great.

I did, however, stumble upon one glitch. For some reason the embedded videos show up as links inside of the placemark on my Mac (note the picture to the right). I dusted off and booted up my Dell desktop and the videos show up there. Perhaps it is just operator error and I need to adjust some setting. I will let you know if I find anything. In the meantime click on the picture above, download the file in the post, and check out something pretty amazing. I know all my 6th grade teachers will love it!
