Friday Fun with Animoto

by Joe on August 17, 2007

I read about Animoto on Ewan McIntosh’s blog this morning. If you haven’t ever checked out his blog, you should. Since he is based out of the United Kingdom he usually has perspectives, tips, and resources you may not have seen in other places.

As far as Animoto goes, I love anything where users can easily put together music and pictures. This is just another great example. Take some pictures from your computer or an online photo album (like Flickr), mix it with some music, and “voila” you have a neat, little video. I know my students will love any project where they get to use a Web 2.0 tool such as this. The example above is a quickie I made this morning using some London pics. I know, I need to go on another trip soon (let Kelly know). You have to be tired of seeing these!

Very cool! I can definitely see our kids getting in to this. I will have to go check it out myself.

Nice to ‘meet’ you. Your pic confused me there a minute – until I read your profile and saw where you were. Hoping for a couple of trips to the US, including California, in the next year. I’m subscribed now, and looking forward to seeing what your new school year holds!
