Since it is the first week of school I am a little behind on my blog reading. However, while I was catching up over lunch I noticed this great site from the Japan Space and Technology Agency. Earth Guide contains an interactive tour of the planet and its location in space. The site contains eight questions varying from “What is the Earth made of?” to “Where does sunlight that hit the Earth go?” Each of the questions are explain through an interactive slide show contain fantastic images, animations, and even a few graphs and charts. In California, it would be a great tool for use in 6th grade science and the astronomy portion of 8th grade science. Just hook up your LCD projector and your laptop and I am sure your students will be amazed…for at least a few minutes.
