DIY Interactive Whiteboard Update

by Joe on January 29, 2008

Hey! Glad to see you back! Don't forget to show some love and comment.

I have been waiting to show off my DIY Interactive Whiteboard, but I’ve had one small problem.  The Bluetooth on my Ghetto Dell (yes, that’s its official name) is having problems.  Today I’m picking it up from the district office and hopefully its Bluetooth dilemma has been fixed and I can start using my new toy.

 DIY Interactive Whiteboard Update

The picture shows what I have so far.  I ordered a Wiimote ($40) and with the help of my favorite tech director, John, I got my LED-transmitting pen all wired up.  The pen consists of a 50 cent giant pen from the party supply store that’s had its guts all drilled out.  At Radio Shack I picked up an LED transmitter, push button, AA battery pack, and some wires.  The pen cost me about $10 to make.  From Johnny Chung Lee’s site I downloaded the free program and assuming my Dell starts working I should be up and running in no time.  I am keeping my fingers crossed and if you could do the same I would certainly appreciate it!
