A Kindle for Every California Student

by Joe on May 7, 2009

A Kindle for Every California StudentIn case you missed it, yesterday Governor Schwarzenegger launched an initiative to make California the first state in the nation to offer schools free, open-source digital textbooks for high school students. The goal is to ensure these books are available to high school math and science students this fall. Here is a link to the full press release sent out by the Governor’s Office yesterday.

I’m curious how students are going to consume these open-source digital textbooks. iPhones? iPods? Laptops? Kindles? Perhaps its no coincidence Amazon released a new version of the Kindle yesterday targeted at textbooks. Its certainly going to be interesting to watch this unfold…and we have a front-row seat on this one.
